Solid few hours at Hove over lunch. 4.5m ezzy was about right overall, cos there were some 'calm' periods as well as general high wind craziness. Four of us out, wind cross on (unfortunately). Launch was still quite munchy and I squeaked it by the skin of my teeth, when by rights I should've been mullered!! Set the tone for a great session in pleasantly large swell. Every wave (even the smaller ones) seemed to have a glorious moment when they lurched up to full size, mainly overhead right at that peaky bit. Some of the big swell was certainly 'somewhere' above my head, and that was me standing upright in the trough to check it out. Was even bottom turning around the ski lane buoys on a few they were that far out. DTL involved extreme clew firstyness and it was nigh on impossible to carve off the lip, but the initial downwind turn was a gift of smoothness. Nice fun.

Quote "I hung around untll gmac was safely ashore. God knows how he was hanging on to a 4.5 at that stage." heh heh!
